Why I am a Board Member
I am a founder member of Sports Volunteering North West and act as Administration Secretary.
I have been a member of the Regional Federations Committee of the C.C.P.R., the original Sports Board North West and am a member of the Environment Agency's Ribble Fisheries Action Plan Committee.
It is important that there is a group to carry on the good work done by the old Federation over many years although in a different way and not to lose the expertise built up.
It can sometimes be forgotten that all who give up there time on committee are volunteers and also need support along with athletes and coaches.
I hope that through links made over many years to be of use to Sports Volunteering North West to be of help other volunteers.
Being a volunteer brings the satisfaction of having helped other people and being helped in return, sometimes making long term friendships.
I hope that it is possible to help people without the need for too much bureaucracy which can inhibit prospective volunteers.
