Why I became a Board Member
I was asked to fill a vacant place on the North West Board, just as it was evolving from Playing Fields to Volunteering. As I live in

I have many years experience in coaching from the grassroots to World Class levels. I have extra gained qualifications in orienteering from
I have also represented my country in orienteering, cross-country skiing and ski-orienteering, in international events and World Championships. I have had the opportunity to study coaching youth sport in other countries through my Churchill Travelling Fellowship.
I have led my country’s teams in World Championships at both senior and Schools levels.
I am now involved in the International Schools Sports Federation as a member of the Technical Commission in Orienteering.
I do admit that my passion is in seeing young people improve and mature in their sporting performances.
I would like to see other people feel the ‘buzz’ of young people performing in their sport to their best ability.
