I have had a life long interest in sport, as well as playing sport I have worked as a volunteer in sport for a very long time (since before England won the World Cup!). I have coached sports, organised major events, acted as Secretary to a governing body, and have been on the Executive of Carlisle Sports Council for 31 years.
I first worked as a volunteer when as captain of the school Football team I was asked to take on the coaching for the first year team. At about the same time I started as a volunteer at my local boys’ club in Liverpool.
I represent the local sports councils in Cumbria on the SVNW Board.
