Sports Volunteering North West is pleased to announce it has been funded again this year by Goldstar, the projects that SVNW will be working with are Streetgames, Get Connected and Merseyside Sport. Watch this space for more information.
The GoldStar Exemplar Programme is a national initiative designed to encourage and enable voluntary organisations and projects throughout England to realise the potential of volunteers, mentors and befrienders from socially excluded or disadvantaged groups.
The aim of the programme is to promote and share the good practices used in engaging people from these groups and giving them the opportunity to enrich their own and other peoples' lives.
Projects funded in this area include SVNW Ltd, NACRO NW Volunteers Programme, Don't 'Dis' ability, SVNW Ltd DVD , Sport Volunteers Inc. and MISPA Research.
Goldstar funding also supports the successful implementation of the North West’s Young Peoples programme. Last year this programme supported the development of nearly 800 young people who took up volunteering in sport. The latest update on the programme can be read here.
