Tiger de Souza

I have a track record of developing volunteering in sport as both a volunteer and paid employee. My previous jobs have been in the field of developing strategies for volunteering in sport as the Strategic Development Manager – Youth Volunteering in Sport for Youth Active and my first post as Volunteer Manager for England Netball.

I have championed youth volunteering as a volunteer in both my capacity as Chair, European Universities Sports Association Student Commission (2002 – 2004) and Vice Chair, British Universities Sports Association (2001 – 2003). I was elected as a trustee of the Board of Volunteering England in June 2006.

Academically, I received an MSc with distinction in Sport & Leisure Management ( LoughboroughUniversity, 2004), and subsequently had an article published on the ‘Role of Higher Education in Developing Volunteers in Sport’ (IVR, Voluntary Action Spring 2005).

I am a keen advocate of integrating volunteering in sport with the wider voluntary sector, though I have recently moved away from sports specific work as a newly appointed Programme infrastructure Manager at v, working on policy areas including research, evaluation and quality assurance.
