Mark Restall - Freelance Volunteering Management Consultant
Mark is a newly established freelance trainer and consultant. Prior to this he had a 10 year career in volunteering good practice, at a local level in volunteer centres and nationally at Volunteering England. He is the author of a wide range of guidance and publications, including Volunteers and the Law and (as co-author) The Good Practice Guide.
Session: "The Legalities Behind Volunteering"
This session will give an overview of the legal position of volunteers, focussing on the main areas of concern to sports organisations. It will look at the law behind health and safety, child protection, benefits issues and avoiding employment relationships. You won't leave a qualified lawyer, but you will gain a better idea of where you stand, and how to avoid falling foul of the law.
