Aiming High: Delivering Excellence in Volunteer Management

This session will focus on some of the key challenges facing managers of volunteers in sport, including; balancing the needs of the project, the funder and the volunteers; attracting and retaining the ‘right’ volunteers for the role and how to go about developing skills and knowledge.

Participants will explore what we mean by ‘excellence’ in volunteer management, and how to develop a ‘pro-volunteering culture’ in their programmes by understanding more about the importance of:

*         Developing appropriate procedures that relate to good practice principles

*         Creating new and innovative volunteering opportunities

*         Building relationships and channelling motivations

*         Managing the expectations of the 21st century volunteer

*Please note that this workshop is resereved for Volunteer Managers only
