Volunteers' Week (1-7 June) is the UK's annual celebration of the work volunteers do. During the Week events are held across the country to recognise, reward and recruit volunteers. To find out more about what is happening in your area visit the Volunteers Week website.
To recognise the importance of volunteers in sport we are going to highlight different aspects and experiences of volunteering each day this week.
Our topic today is Valuing Volunteers, here at Sports Volunteering North West we work hard at a stregic level to ensure volunteers are valued. This includes activities such as ensuring event volunteers are managed to a high standard. You can find out more about this by reading our interview with Jacqui Veal - the Volunteer Manager for the recent World Short Course Swimming Championships in Manchester by clicking here.
SVNW aims to be the leading Voice of Volunteers in sport and physical activity and places the value of volunteers at the heart of our strategy Reaching Higher and Wider.
We also try to support volunteers as comprehensively and widely as possible, take a stroll around our website and find information about volunteering in clubs, volunteer centres, youth volunteering, event volunteering just for starters.
If you think there is anything missing we would love to hear your views too.
