Volunteer for the Triathlon at the World Firefighter Games
The World Firefighter Games Triathlon event requires the help of our registered volunteers in order that their event runs successfully
The World Fire fighter Games is a biennial competition in which Fire fighters and their families from all over the world compete in numerous and varied sporting events.
It is an international sporting event in its own right, initiated by an American entrepreneur and a committee of international Fire fighters in 1990. Since its launch, the initiative has been more and more successful and has had a growing socio-economic impact and following. This is the 10th Games and previous hosts include big cities like Las Vegas, Sydney and Paris, usually attracting in the region of 5000 competitors.
The Liverpool World Firefighter Games 2008 will be held from the 24th August- 3rd September 2008. The Games include a variety of sport, some serious, some not so serious and whilst the emphasis is on participation, competition its fierce and the last times the Games were held in the UK (Sheffield) two British national records were broken .
The Triathlon event within this takes place on Saturday 24th August in the Rivington Area of Bolton. The race starts and finishes in the Anderton Centre. All volunteers will have refreshments provided for them on the day.
