4 projects working up stage 2 submission

Passport to Outdoors

As the aim of the project is to create a supply chain and sustainable route to the outdoors the project has a two tier approach, working with young people 16 –18 year olds, passport type scheme, which will include leadership awards and accreditations in outdoor activities.

The project will recruit 32 young people each year for 2 years.  However, the project has duration of 3 years as each young person will have the option to remain with the project for 2 years, where there would be an estimated 25% reduction in participation.

The second strand of the project is in providing sustainability and capacity. It will involve recruitment of identified adults – (18 plus) to achieve nationally recognised accreditations in the outdoors.  This will achieve continued access in areas of Allerdale where outdoor activity opportunities are not easily available. This element of the project will recruit 8 adults for each year of the project, with a different focus each year.  Year 1 – General Public, Year 2 Women, Year 3 Inclusive (adults working with young people with disabilities).  This second strand also provides a route for those young people who have worked through the passport in previous years.
