Manchester Event Volunteers: Who are we?
Manchester Event Volunteers (MEV) developed from the Volunteer Crew at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games. Volunteering with us is about personal choice and volunteers can decide which events they would like to be involved with from a list of opportunities which are updated regularly. We also have a range of training opportunities that can lead to recognised qualifications.
What are we offering you and how can we work together?
If you have clients or volunteers who would benefit from taking part in our Working with Others course they can complete the booking form in the download pack and return it to us at our Freepost address, via e-mail at info@mev.org.uk or they can sign up by phone on 0161 234 1532. Your clients/volunteers are under no obligation to volunteer with MEV if they take part in this course. However, if they do decide to take part, there are some fantastic volunteering opportunities available.
What topics does the course cover?
Working with Others has been developed by Manchester Event Volunteers and covers useful topics such as Teamwork, Communication, Health and Safety, Risk Assessment and is accredited by the Open College Network (OCN). Once the course is completed, you can choose to study further courses. The course runs for a total of 14 hours and, where possible, is delivered at times and in venues to suit the commitments of the group. More information is included in this pack download it here.
What are the eligibility criteria?
Manchester Event Volunteers are offering these courses to Manchester residents, over the age of 18, who would like to gain a qualification and are prepared to attend 14 hours of training.
What do I need to do next?
More information will be available soon regarding times and venues but if you or your group/client or volunteers would like to come along, please register your initial interest on the form in the download pack and we will be in contact with more details in the near future.
